埋葬蟲是一種狹溫適寒性昆蟲，利用大顎移除動物屍體的內臟，同時拔除屍體上的毛髮；接著用牠的 6 個腳搖動屍體，把附近的泥土挖鬆，讓動物屍體漸漸沒入泥土中，完成埋葬。
